"Art is and has always been my greatest passion", says Maryam.


She holds a Master of Science Degree in Instruction and Curriculum Leadership/ Art Education at the University of Memphis.


She has been teaching art and painting since 2005 in various institutions as well as her private classes. She has also been the judge and jury member for art exhibitions as an art mentor and critic.


Under the tutelage of Jed Jackson and Beth Edwards, she has had the privilege to deeply explore watercolor, charcoal, pastel, gouache, and oils to develop her own style.


Back to her earlier stages of professional development, she has also benefited from the outstanding instructions by Master Poursaha and Master Shaafeie.

She has instilled art appreciation and promoted creativity in students in grades K‐12.

Areas of Specialization include acrylic painting, still life, basic drawing, as well as 3‐D foundations, collage, fashion design, and drapery. Highlights and contributions include the following:

 Design and present lessons to actively engage students while educating them on proper artistic methodologies and techniques.

 Teach students art concepts in composition through use of watercolors, acrylics, and other art mediums.

 Increase student awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the visual arts through creative instruction, hands‐on lesson plans on various art topics, and fun and engaging educational projects.

 Provide students opportunities for creative expression and personal growth as well as development of new skills and interests beyond the classroom through art.
